About Adrian Ruigrok
Engineering manager at Apple
Apple Veteran | 40 Years of Software Wisdom | Engineering Leadership & Performance Expert
I’ve spent the last 40 years in the trenches of software evolution, with a defining 11-year chapter at Apple where I led engineering for Pages on iOS and worked on the core UIKit team for the original iPad. I’ve shipped five major releases of iWork and helped migrate entire ecosystems to modern frameworks like Swift and ARC.
After four decades of writing code, I’ve realized that while I still love the "fun part" of building, my greatest fulfillment now comes from the human side of technology— mentoring emerging leaders, and helping engineers navigate the complexities of long-term career growth.
I specialize in "Performance Engineering for People." I help my mentees remove the bottlenecks in their own leadership styles and technical roadmaps.
Based in Vancouver and working globally, I’m here to offer the "Apple" perspective to the next generation of builders.
