I have spent 15+ years building systems people cannot afford to have fail. Early on I helped scale Snapp past 2 million rides a day. We were solving problems none of us had solved before, and we learned distributed systems the direct way, by breaking them in production and then fixing what we broke. That taught me the thing I still care most about: architecture is not a diagram, it is a set of bets about how your system will fail. Since then, I have worked across delivery and logistics at Getir and Paack, and now at Roche, where I am a principal-level engineer on the Navify platform, distributed healthcare software running in more than 100 countries. When your service sits in the path of a patient's diagnosis, "eventually consistent" stops being an academic phrase. Along the way, I finished a Master's in AI at the University of York, mostly because I did not want to be the engineer who only understands the layer he already knows. I mentor because I had a mentor. Someone senior gave me their time when I had nothing to offer in return, and it changed my career direction. This is me passing that along.
