About Akash Soti

Sr. UX designer at Amazon

With a rich 12-year journey in design, my career took off as a Ruby on Rails developer, gradually pivoting to design. This foundational phase was crucial, as it honed my ability to blend technical prowess with aesthetic sensibility.

My first significant foray into design leadership was at Punchh.com, where I served as the first designer. I was instrumental in designing various white-labelled loyalty apps for restaurants across the US, setting the stage for a robust design culture within the company. Leading a team of 3 designers, we successfully launched several iOS and Android apps, culminating in Punchh's acquisition by PAR for $500 million—a testament to the foundational design seeds I planted.

After Punchh.com, I was fortunate to work at Ola which was one of the first unicorn startups from India. At Ola I spearheaded new initiatives, and designed key services from scratch, like Ola Shuttle, Rental, Outstation, and Share Express.

For the past 6 years at Amazon I have contributed to diverse products and designed experiences for various modalities. I have worked with Alexa, Amazon Pay, Amazon Business, Global Logistics, Central Shopping Experiences, Seller initiatives and have worked with global stakeholders.
