About Alex Cortes

Senior User Experience Designer at Toptal

Starting a career in design can feel overwhelming — especially when you are trying to build a portfolio, understand the UX process, prepare for interviews, or simply figure out your next step. You do not have to solve everything alone.

I am a Senior UX/UI Designer with 15 years of experience, currently working with startups through Toptal. I can help you review your portfolio or resume, improve a case study, structure your design process, prepare for interviews, navigate career decisions, and turn feedback into a practical action plan.

My mentoring style is friendly, honest, and hands-on. There are no “stupid questions” and no expectation that you already know all the design terminology. Bring a challenge, an unfinished project, or even just your doubts — we will unpack them together and define clear next steps.

If you are a beginner or intermediate designer looking for practical guidance and a safe space to grow, I would be happy to talk with you.
