Designing Checkout, Customer Accounts and Square Pay experiences on the Square Online team.

Working on a part-time and advisory basis with a great team of venture catalysts who invest in start-ups with high growth potential.

I’m currently the Design Surface Lead on Commerce Cart for Instagram and Facebook apps.

• Framed the product hypothesis and designed experiments in two key areas to deliver +300% on the goal and +24% on goal respectively. 
• Led strategy work that influenced multiple partner teams cross org.
• Introduced a modified design sprint methodology to decrease risk in shipping experiments. 
• Received a rating of "Greatly exceeds expectations" in the most recent performance review.


Previously Product Designer for Commerce Relevance (Shops): Commerce & Social Signals and Analytics & Payments for the Creators-as-Marketers team in the Ads & Business Products (ABP) org.

I took on additional responsibilities community managing the global Ogilvy experience design network, consisting of 150+ Experience Designers from around the world. 

I organised monthly network meetings to discuss the latest happenings in the industry and beyond.

A UK VC-backed marketplace company revolutionising car ownership.

My responsibilities and added value: 

•I oversaw UX, visual, and brand, as well as contributed to the creation of marketing collateral. I was the sole User Experience Designer for over a year, during which I set out and defined the design process within Drover.

•I led the user experience of a new B2C product from conception to launch, with almost 2000 concurrent bookings and a web usability score of over 70.

•I was the owner of the Design System (using Atomic Design principles), which was shared using Sketch shared libraries with other designers and Zeplin with developers. I created the plan for developer collaboration and hand-off process.

•I mentored junior designers, including a visual designer who made the switch into user experience design.

•As the team grew, I implemented Abstract to ensure scalability of the Product Design function.

•I started an initiative called "Design Book Club," a space for designers to share things that they had learned recently.

•I used the full UCD process to create an app to produce inspection reports for cars that were being rented out or returned.

My prior work at the company led to a promotion into the Product team.

My responsibilities and added value:

• I was the front-end product owner of a B2B content intelligence product aimed at e-commerce merchants/brands. I worked very closely with the design team to bring customer requirements to life. 

• I was the analytics lead within the product team for the aforementioned product where I produced weekly performance reports that helped the team understand our users, primarily using KISSmetrics.

• I successfully project managed the skimlinks.com website relaunch on time and on budget.

• I was the product owner of a Google Chrome extension called Skimlinks Editor - where I listened to customer feedback and alleviated frustration of a previous version by redesigning the core parts of the product.

• I was the first line of tech support often using SQL to query our databases to diagnose issues with our products. My job was critical for customer satisfaction and confidence in the company.

My responsibilities and added value:

• I was tasked with managing all of Skimlinks’ customer support channels as well as collecting customer feedback for the Product, QA and Ops teams. I ensured that support ticket response times were never more than 24 hours and satisfaction was always above 80%.

•  Three months into the job, I was asked to support the wider Publisher Development team efforts through the production of reports using data analysis systems where I gained experience with salesforce.com, Microsoft Excel and querying databases using SQL.

My responsibilities and added value:

• At Shutl, I contributed significantly on a huge brand revamp for expansion into the US - a key strategic initiative. 

• I utilised Photoshop and InDesign to change branding on leaflets, presentations and other promotional materials.

• In addition to the above, my productivity gave me the opportunity to represent the company at a retail expo where I developed business with prospective customers. Shutl was acquired by eBay shortly after I left.

DevMeetDesign was a website that connected hundreds of developers and designers for jobs and partnerships that I founded. 

I did the following to set up the website:

• Came up with the concept and wireframes of every page of the website.
• Validated customer need through customer development.
• Designed wireframes and hi-fi mockups in Photoshop.

I also started a meetup under the same name and had my first event in September 2012 which over 100 people attended. Guests all received free drinks for the entire night provided through sponsorship from Springboard Accelerator and Vibrant Media.
