How to think about design career paths and what progression looks like for designers?

Design career path

1. I led business-critical projects on the frontend. It involved creating technical design docs, making architectural decisions, and working closely with teams during the implementation.
2. Implemented the frontend of Metabot, which brings AI features into Metabase by integrating with ChatGPT. Metabot converts questions about data in natural languages into database queries, with results being visualized using the most suitable chart type.
3. Implemented the initial version of server-side charts rendering for sending them by email and Slack.
4. Developed dashboard parameters with custom data sources.
5. Developed and integrated a design system library based on Mantine and Formik.
6. Integrated Snowplow for sending analytics events.

1. I was responsible for implementing design system components and maintaining frontend CI/CD pipelines.
2. Integrated Happo for visual snapshot testing of the design system components library.
3. Migrated FE CI pipelines from Jenkins to GitHub Actions.

1. Designed a plan for gradual migration from Dart to TypeScript. The plan described required changes to an internal UI-kit, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes of the company.
2. Implemented a subset of Dart UI-kit in React & TypeScript to unblock teams from adopting TypeScript in their applications.
3. Improved Reports initial loading time from 20 sec to 2 sec for large accounts. This was achieved by code-splitting, loading data on demand, and changes to the data processing logic on the front-end.

1. Introduced micro-frontend approach. Created required libraries and documentation for teams to extract their features from the main app to individual applications.
2. Implemented a reusable spreadsheet component with sorting, grouping, aggregation, and inline data editing capabilities. The component was used in all tabular views of the main application, including Table View, Gantt View, Reports.
3. Implemented a subset of the internal UI-kit, including entity pickers and filters.
4. Implemented Report Templates. The feature increased Reports WAU from 4% to 9%.

1. Implemented a background service to synchronize assessment data between the central and local Surpass instances.
2. Implemented a MSI installer for the background service.
3. Implemented a service configuration web app.
