I've been writing software since 1991 and shipping it professionally since 1996. Today I'm CTO of a healthcare software company and I teach Software Construction in the master's program in Applied Computing at the University of Brasília.
My current focus started as a real problem on my desk: as CTO, I had to make AI use in code production something the company could rely on, with a minimum of safety and predictability, across a whole team, not just in my own hands. Language models are probabilistic by nature. Left alone, every result is partly luck. The work is building the structure around the model that takes luck out of the loop: frame the problem, split it into verifiable units, delegate the right parts, validate with rigor, integrate without degrading the codebase. Not prompt tricks. Engineering. To prove it, I built a multi-agent system on top of Claude Code that plans, implements, reviews and ships with quality gates between steps. I run it every day on real work.
If you're a mid or senior developer or a tech lead who uses Copilot or ChatGPT every day, feels the speed but has no method, and still asks "is this code as good as mine", bring your workflow and a real piece of code. One session is enough to see where the method breaks for you and what the first thing to change is. Building the rest is a longer road, and I'll tell you honestly how long.
