About Ali Hussain

Technical Consultant

Cloud & Open Source Engineer with a love for supporting social and humanitarian causes, delivering great software products, and helping startups find their footing.

I spend most of my time building and shipping infrastructure most people never see but always depend on: production-grade cloud environments, secure AI pipelines, and systems that need to work at scale without breaking. I've co-designed OpenStack and Kubernetes platforms for 5G research testbeds, architected private clouds across 50+ bare-metal nodes, and built containerised pipelines handling thousands of transactions a day — all with security baked in from the start, aligned to frameworks like HIPAA and NIST. I'm also a contributor to OpenStack and the Linux Foundation ecosystem, so I've seen how open-source communities and large technical teams actually function behind the scenes. But the part of my career I'm most proud of is how often I've had to explain hard things clearly — to executives, to teammates, to people just starting out. That's exactly what I want to bring here. I work well with students and career-changers figuring out where to start, mid-level professionals wanting to grow or pivot into security, cloud, or DevOps, and new managers navigating people challenges for the first time. Bring a real question — whether it's finding direction, prepping for interviews, solving a problem at work, or building confidence as a leader — and we'll find a practical next step together.
