Design career path

I'm working in a key role, developing a super experience for Rappi's products and services. I work to ensure that all elements of the user experience are optimized to enhance the understanding and solutions we offer as a business, both in the digital and physical world.

I connect my passion with the people on my team, providing creative and adaptable solutions to our user's necessities and desires, keeping up with best practices, emerging trends in technology, and product delivery. I contribute not only within the design team but also with the product and business squads to define the direction and strategy for our solutions. I encourage the leverage of design frameworks and the maintenance of a highly collaborative and challenging environment.

Rappi is a game-changer startup for restaurants, grocery, and e-commerce delivery in Latin America. Working with over 2M customers, 100K restaurant partners, and hundreds of thousands of orders daily, we are working around 9 countries to continue growing our operations.

As director of the restaurant vertical, I lead the largest line of business, where we serve millions of customers monthly, partner with hundreds of thousands of restaurants, and offer distinct end-to-end product lines from internal operational tools to digital marketing products.

I work directly with the company leadership and C-level, being responsible for defining the quarterly UX strategy, and driving the restaurant experience for B2C and B2B customers, crafting and delivering a delightful user experience.

As the UX Lead for Sell Your Item and Publications in Latin America at Mercado Libre, I was responsible for leading the user experience strategy and design for two key product lines present in 18 countries in Latin America. I worked closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and data analysts, to identify user needs, define product requirements, and develop and implement user-centered solutions that could be successfully deployed across multiple markets.

My focus was on ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience for users, while also meeting the business objectives of the company. I led the design of user flows, wireframes, and prototypes, while also overseeing user testing and research to validate design decisions. I collaborated closely with our UX team in Buenos Aires and other local teams across the region to ensure that the user experience was consistently implemented across different markets.

Throughout my time at Mercado Libre, I led the development of new design frameworks and processes, in addition to contributing to the overall UX strategy for the company. By collaborating with teams across the organization, I ensured that the user experience was prioritized and aligned with the company's strategic goals, while also ensuring that the unique needs and preferences of users in different markets were taken into account.

UX Lead for the Flights & Destination Services Design teams at Despegar, the number one Online Travel Agency in Latin America, whose goal is the democratization of the concept of travel.

My role:
Guiding and prioritizing tasks according to the design profiles at the work cells, in search of development opportunities within the company.

Empowering the team and fostering the acquisition of knowledge through performance management and personalized career paths.

Defining the purpose and vision of design on each step of the process, from understanding the real problem to following and delivering solutions that create a positive impact on users and businesses.

Fomenting a collaborative mindset within the work cells and cross squads, involving key stakeholders in the process of creating meaningful solutions.

Leveraging the team up through systemic thinking and building empathy. Searching for and selecting talented profiles with the necessary skills to empower the team.

As a UX Professor at EBAC - British School of Creative Arts, I led two disciplines that are highly relevant to the UX field.

Ideation, Prototyping, and Usability Tests, equipped students with skills to ideate, prototype, and test concepts with real users and customers. The classes incorporated both soft design skills, such as co-creation, service prototyping, and accurate product simulation, and hard skills, utilizing the most helpful market ideation and prototyping tools.

UX Metrics & KPIs provided students with an overview of metrics that represent user experiences. I developed practice tools to help students understand the context and business scenario and define the key performance indicators and metrics that can be used in UX and digital projects.

Senior Product Designer in the Home & Onboarding Design team at Despegar.

I was in charge of the strategy definition and the implementation of design iterations over quantitative and qualitative research.

I led the acquisition and retention strategy of first-experience users according to the different stages of their trips, product relation, profile data, and nationality. This cross-device project involved quantitative analysis throughout the twenty countries in the business strategy, and also qualitative research on latent users behavior that generated insights for the solution phase.

I designed new features, implementations, and navigability improvements for homepages, apps, and landing pages that receive millions of daily visits all around Latin America.

I developed usability tests, in-depth interviews, quantitative analysis, and defined the product strategy together with the Product and I.T. teams.

I facilitated co-creation/collaborative workshops and rapid prototyping among teams and encouraged the stakeholder mapping to generate engagement with the product initiatives.
