🚀 I'm excited to share my journey as a versatile product designer and user advocate! My path has been anything but ordinary, weaving through graphic and instructional design, academia, training, business analysis, project management, and running my design studio. Each experience has added a unique layer to my perspective on every project I tackle.
It all started 26 years ago when I dove into the world of product design. Early on, I got to work on some amazing projects that shaped my career. One of my favorites was pioneering a groundbreaking SaaS application for Sprint in the medical and insurance sectors. It was an incredible challenge, but seeing it come to life was beyond rewarding. Then there was a time I led the design and development of Bioverativ's global intranet site. Bringing that vision to reality on such a large scale was a true highlight.
But it wasn't just tech and medical projects that got my creative juices flowing. I also had the thrill of overseeing the creation of IKEA's first gift registry app, as well as loyalty platforms for automotive giants like Jeep, Hyundai, and Genesis. Each project had its own set of challenges and rewards, and I loved every minute of it.
About 17 years ago, I discovered another passion: teaching. I started sharing my knowledge with adult learners in design and publishing, working in adult education centers, community colleges, and universities. There's something incredibly fulfilling about helping future multi-disciplinary editors, designers, and production staff find their footing and thrive in their careers.
What I Do Best: Training, instruction, and education for design professionals. Helping people master creative applications and processes with a goal of retention and mastery as each student learns. Blending my hands-on design experience with dedicated teaching.
I’m on a mission to mentor and inspire the next generation of creative professionals. Every step of this journey has been a learning experience, and I can't wait to see what the future holds!
