In my role as service designer, I get to:
• Support the research, design and development phases of new and existing projects across our thematic focus areas
• Implement and embed good design practices and principles in our projects with local government and other partners
• Help nurture and spread user-centered design skills across London local government.

Our major areas of focus for this year are: Adult Social Care, Housing, Net Zero, and Digital Inclusion.

I was part of the founding team at The Caregiving Lab - built to set us up to be leaders and innovators in care-giving. The Lab is a place where we ask questions, push boundaries, and prototype ideas that help us define a new standard of care.

My work in this role includes:
• Leading and working on human-centered design projects that strengthen our existing work and identify new areas of intervention (including new products or services to be built)
• Support our expansion into new condition areas and geographies
• Designing and executing research activities such as journey mapping, cultural probes, prototyping, photo-ethnography, to name a few.
• Staff and lead teams of members across product, programs, and implementation functions in design research projects
• Support the building of human-centered design thinking skills for other teams the organisation
• Contribute to the vision for The Caregiving Lab as well as strategy, structures and processes to support it

My role included supporting the team's activities mainly in South Asia, Middle East and Africa by:
* RESEARCH
* Conducting ethnographic research to gain deep understanding and contribute to Generation's primary research on skills, mindsets, challenges and value drivers for each job role
* Mapping technical and behavioural skills required across a variety of roles and industries
* Understanding and implementing relevant, contextual adult learning theories in session design
* CURRICULUM DESIGN
* Developing engaging and rigorous session plans, simulations, and community building spaces
* Contributing to additional curriculum & instruction team projects
* Coordinating with country team, education partners, employer partners and technical experts

* At Coders Beyond Bars, we strive to change the trajectory of the lives of incarcerated people through high-tech education. My key responsibilities included:
* PROGRAM DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION
* Developing and executing relevant, high quality, and engaging lessons for justice-involved youth
* Maintaining program documentation and collating evidence for grant-applications
* Identifying and recruiting volunteer trainers/facilitators
* STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
* Forging and maintaining program partnerships with correctional facilities
* Identifying and building relationships with program delivery and implementation partners
* STRATEGY
* Co-creating strategic plans for curriculum, business development, and advocacy
* Mapping out long-term theory of change for Coders Beyond Bars
* Contributing to MIT TEJI's larger vision and goals

Varthana is a Non-Banking Finance Company that provides financial support to low-income schools. Additionally, the goal of Varthana is to equip these schools with the expertise and resources they need to provide their students with an excellent education. As an Ed Specialist, I was able to support 10 under-resourced schools, impacting around 100 teachers. My work involved: - Designing and implementing year-long and multi-week programs to develop need-based skills for teachers - Co-creating and implementing tools for online learning, school-wide projects and other microlearning support - Building vision-aligned communities of practice among school teams, service providers, and stakeholders in the community

My journey with Teach for India set me on the path towards building my vision of a empathetic, equitable and civically engaged world. I was a teacher and mentor to 140 students across grades 8, 9 and 10 in an underserved community in Yerwada, Pune. My work as a Fellow included:

- Studying and implementing best practices in classroom management and student leadership
- Researching, creating and facilitating experiential lesson plans (English, Music, and Math)
- Conducting weekly community visits to build relationships and understand challenges
- Creating spaces to increase community participation and investment in education
- Creating integrated modules focusing adolescent development
- Developing innovative and differentiated curriculum in English and Math for implementation across 3 schools
- Interviewing, recruiting, and training teachers
- Setting up school mission, vision, structures, systems, clubs and councils
