Head of money movement and payments infrastructure for North America.

I lead one of our core products, the Wise Account (multi-currency account) for North America. My role involves overseeing a large engineering team and ensuring there is a strategic vision in place that teams can execute on. During my time here, I have shaped the strategy for the Wise Account in the US and have increased the value to customers by offering the ability for US customers to earn interest, establishing an open finance partnership with Plaid for customers to connect their Wise Account to 6,000+ applications and expanding our USD SWIFT details to 103 new countries.

Combining my expertise as a Senior Product Manager and my knowledge in financial services, I joined Wise, a cross-border payments company headquartered in the UK to build on their mission in APAC. I was responsible for all of East Asia and over time expanded my remit to South Asia. I lead the launch of the Wise Account (multi-currency account) in Japan and specialized in this further creating a product for freelancers in India to receive money from abroad directly into their Wise Account.

My role as a Senior Product Manager took on more responsibility globally to understand how we could synergise features and build a more cohesive and unified experience for our customers. I was responsible for a team of Product Managers working closely with our counterparts in the US as well as integrating new features via 3rd parties into the product. During this time, my team launched a new referral programme with vendor MentionMe, increasing successful referrals by 10%, revamped the Birchbox subscription gift box experience and introduced gift cards, built a new site for hosting blog content driving an increased 300% in site traffic. Lastly we were responsible for implementing GDPR measures and increased fraud and security controls.

Taking a plunge into the startup world, I joined Birchbox, a relatively young startup as their Product Manager overseeing two markets, the UK and Spain. Over the course of one year, I set the digital vision and strategy for both regions. This resulted in cost efficiency by launching new delivery options (click & collect), vendor management, reduced customer service contacts as a result of higher automation and strategic initiatives such as complete website redesign and the ability for customers to skip a box (higher retention).

As a specialist in Financial Services, I spent my time across multiple major banks in the UK to help build better digital products for customers. I managed large scale roadmaps for different banks and was also held accountable for delivering against the vision. I lead customer control groups to determine the best possible feature to build next to contribute to roadmap strategy. Lastly, I spent time coaching my team on finding ways to improve output.

Working with a major bank in the UK, my responsibility was to support the digital transformation of the bank to provide the best online experience for retail customers. I spent my time working closely with our engineering to build custom components in Adobe CQ5 and reviewing brand strategy based on UX and UI feasibility. I was responsible for managing 30+ key client stakeholders across the bank as well as incident and defect management.

As part of my course at King's College London, I spent a year in an Industrial Placement Scheme at Accenture as a Software Engineer. During my time, I worked with several clients in the Oil & Gas industry and Financial Services.
