Lead Product Designer at Grab
Lead Product Designer at Grab
I've always enjoyed solving problems with whatever tools I have since I was 11 y.o. At that time, I repurposed a broken toy phone as an intruder alarm for my small bedroom (intruder = lovely siblings). Albeit now I'm focusing on digital products, I'm just grateful that I can reach out to more people by doing what I've always loved. 😂
I got into design when I was in primary school, designing posters, T-shirts, logos, and button badges. As I kept getting design requests, I realized that people are willing to pay for my so-called "hobby", so I started charging for my work (hehe) and selling them since I was in high school.
Prior to my study in Computer Science (Multimedia Computing) degree, Engineering was always the sole career option. However, my Computer Science classes during my study in the foundation of Engineering made me realize where my passion really is. Tech, design, and problem-solving.
In the early days of my career, I've always aimed to join smaller startups in hope that I would learn the ropes to build a business from the ground up. Ah yes, I have quite an interest in entrepreneurship too! To me, it's all about solving problems and helping my community, and the latter really brings purpose to my career.
I've been promoted twice from, Product Designer(PD) -> Sr. PD -> Lead PD.
Now, I'm leading 2 Portfolios across 7 teams at Setel, a PETRONAS brainchild Fintech/E-wallet innovation startup. We're leading the Fortune500 conglomerate into the carbon net-zero future.
Working with people who are not afraid to venture into new things, break new grounds and see change as an opportunity excites me!
I'm no expert but I love learning and talking to people. Hit me up and we'll see if I can help you in any way :D
