About Barbara Perkowski

Senior Product Designer at Amazon

Hi there! I’m Basia, a senior product designer who loves making digital products awesome. I have over 10 years of experience in product design. I'm a T-shaped generalist with a focus on research, data, and experience strategy. Nowadays, I optimize patients' journeys at Amazon One Medical.

I’ve worked on various consumer and business products across domains and platforms. I’m passionate about data, usability, empathy, and human behavior. In my free time, I chase sunsets and lift weights!

I’m excited to mentor you and help you with your design career goals. Whether you need feedback on your portfolio, case studies, or resume, or want to learn more about changing roles, working cross-functionally, being the only designer, building a design process, or breaking into tech, I’m here to support you and share my insights and tips. Let’s get started!

What mentees say

“Barbara has been a wonderful mentor to me. Her constructive criticism challenged me to push the boundaries of my work and present myself in a more impactful way. She has always been supportive and encouraging.”

ANAMITRA JANA, Product Designer at CTIL, Indiana University

“I really enjoyed my sessions with Barbara (Basia)! She is very approachable and quick-witted in her ability to critique both research and visual design. She excels in spotting the key issues, ideas, and story behind a design and in using this understanding to offer constructive feedback.”

Scott Spencer Jackson, Product Designer at Designlab

“Barbara was incredible. Her and I discussed our day to days, and what the expectations are on her team/big organization. She gave me phenomenal advice on how to present myself, and also gave me the confidence I needed moving forward. So grateful. She was so easy to talk to as well!”
