Conducting good user research

Teaching college and specialization courses, I focus on Interactive Design, Usability, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and User Experience (UX) Design and Research. My goal is to equip students with practical skills and critical knowledge to design innovative, user-centered solutions.

Cultivating Student Creativity and Craft: With years of experience, you know that great journalism starts with strong, clear ideas. You help students develop their own voice, teaching them how to research, write, and craft stories that resonate with their peers. You guide them through the process of creating work they can be proud of, showing them that good writing is an evolving skill that improves with practice and feedback.

Teaching the Fundamentals of Ethical Journalism: A core part of your role is teaching students the principles of responsible journalism—accuracy, fairness, and accountability. You show them how to ask the right questions, gather information, and present it honestly. You also emphasize the importance of telling stories from multiple perspectives and maintaining integrity, preparing them for any journalistic path they may follow.

Creating a Collaborative, High-Standards Environment: The best publications are the result of strong teamwork. You guide students in working together, sharing ideas, and critiquing each other’s work in a constructive way. You teach them that collaboration is at the heart of journalism, and that the best ideas often come from working with others to push each other’s thinking.

As an Extension Program Coordinator at City College of San Jose Del Monte, I leverage my strong organizational skills and deep understanding of community engagement to coordinate and manage initiatives that bridge the gap between academic research and real-world community needs. My role involves translating complex academic insights into practical, actionable plans that benefit both the college and the local barangay communities. By focusing on effective communication, meticulous project management, and a genuine passion for social impact, I ensure that our programs not only address immediate community challenges but also contribute to long-term development and empowerment.

I am proud to serve as an official mentor and partner with Designed, Inc., the only 501(c)(3) public charity committed to building a diverse, inclusive design community. We offer a platform filled with educational tools, resources, and mentorship for aspiring designers globally.

In this role, I teach key design disciplines including Visual Communication, Design Thinking, Graphic Design, User Experience & Research, and Product Design. My focus is to guide individuals through hands-on learning, providing practical insights and strategies for a successful career in design.

Designed, Inc. is dedicated to creating equal opportunities in design by making education accessible to all, fostering creativity, and empowering the next generation of design leaders.
