What are design systems and how to work with them?

Building successful design systems

- Led design on various projects within Unity’s Accelerate Solutions organization
- Led the creation and maintenance of the organization’s design system and worked closely with development
- Responsibilities: user requirements gathering, task estimation, initial design framework setup,
design production guidance, and facilitate cross-collaboration between different team function

I lead the design on a new hotel booking travel startup, HotelDirect. Technology plays a huge role in the evolution of this industry. There are many aspects you need to consider to get ahead of the big players (Expedia and Booking.com) in the market. As the company grew and our user-base scaled, it was important to have a design process that allows for a user-centered approach. I've worked closely with development, business, and marking and set product direction based on stakeholder and user feedback. Unfortunately, HotelDirect was one of many companies that were affected by COVID-19.

- Work closely with the founding team in a fast pace environment
- Create design system from scratch using Figma
- Determine product direction based on user and stakeholder feedback
- Utilizing 3D to create a unique brand to stand out amongst competitors
- Using FullStory, Facebook & Google analytics, and Mixpanel to track success metrics
