UX Researcher II at DocuSign
I am a UX Researcher, but my journey to this career was not your typical route. I came from a background of neuroscience, cognitive science, and psychology (and music performance) - I even went to graduate school to pursue a career in neuropsychology and worked as a student mental health therapist. It was only after I found out that academia wasn’t my cup of tea that I discovered (gladly) UX Research, and I haven’t looked back since. I acknowledge, and experienced first-hand, that the transition to this field (or any field) was not easy. Yet, I've met a lot of great mentors, friends, and managers who supported me while I was transitioning into this field - without them, I wouldn't be where I am today. I live in Seattle and happy to share my story and provide my two cents to anyone looking to break into this field!
“Brian is very professional and warm-hearted. He shared his career story with me and gave me many wonderful suggestions on transitioning.”
“Actionable feedback on my portfolio and great next step guidance for my career path. Genuinely made sure to understand my current situation and give "insider" tips!”
“Brian is an amazing mentor! From our first meeting, he was able to provide advice that was not only insightful but also truly fitting and encouraging. He helped me understand the heart of UX and how to transition into it. Since then, he has also helped review my resume.”
