Hi, I'm Cindy and I have more than 10 years of experience as data scientist / economist. Currently I'm a Staff Scientist / Tech Lead at Uber, previously at Netflix and Amazon. I recently started writing on substack! Check it out here https://rationalagent.substack.com/.

I specialize in causal inference, experimentation platforms, pricing and incentive design, and marketplace dynamics, with a track record of influencing executive decision-making and shaping product strategy across multiple orgs.

I have a background in economics and focus on health care policy and consumer finance for my PhD research project. I have worked in non-profit research institute, finance companies, and more extensively tech companies.

Through the span of my career, I have developed deep expertise in data science skills, focusing on high impact applications and technical depth. I have worked on and led large-scale models in production, working cross functionally with key teams. I’m excited about the rich opportunities in applying rigor and strategic techniques to complex and strategic business and engineering problems. I have been an interviewer for data related roles in last 8+ years, and frequently mentor junior scientists, including hiring summer interns from top PhD programs.
