Part-time Intern at the Alameda County Health Care Services Agency's Recipe4Health program. Alameda County Recipe4Health is a nationally recognized, award-winning model that integrates food-based interventions into healthcare settings (“Food as Medicine”) to treat, prevent and reverse chronic conditions; to address food and nutrition insecurity and other social determinants of health; and to improve health and racial equity.

My role as an intern with the program is to manage and improve the online digital and print assets of the Recipe4Health program for clinicans, clinical staff, and patients.

Inaugural Class of 2022 Civil & Human Rights Fellowship at Google, focusing on Environmental Justice in the Global South and SE Asia. Joining a group of human rights experts working to actively harness the power of technology to respect and advance human rights across the globe. The Civil & Human Rights Program works to cultivate domain expertise, external relationships and a cross-company perspective to help Google uphold its human rights commitments.

In order to inform equitable COVID-19 response efforts, researchers and public health officials need detailed, accurate, and centralized data about the disparate racial and ethnic impacts of COVID-19. 

The Google.org Fellow team will support Morehouse School of Medicine in building a platform that will inform equitable public health policy during and beyond the COVID-19 crisis, particularly for under-served communities.

20% time project: UXD with Verily's Onduo app, whose goal is to help folks better manage their chronic conditions. MVP of the app is focused on behavior change and Type II diabetes management.

Aetna is a health insurance company dedicated to providing the best experience to their users, both inside and outside a screen. As a Team Lead and Lead User Experience Designer on the Aetna Digital Product Design Team, I work to promote cross-department collaboration in building Aetna's digital products, design and test memorable, functional, and effective user experiences, and to evangelize the role of UX design in the process of building a product. 

In the past couple of months, I have:
-Led a team of UX/UI designers to work across a host of features across the product, including: health and wellness coaching, health records, device integration, messaging, personalization, recommendation engines, rewards and incentives. 

-Work closely with Senior Product Managers and Director of Product Management to define strategy for new features, prioritize feature work within our design team, and define requirements, edge cases, and technical limitations for design work.

-Planned and led multiple cross-discipline workshops and design sprints between product, design, analytics, research, and content/marketing to create a holistic strategy for notification and personalization features within the app. From this workshop, worked across teams to map out and create the ideal MVP user experience, particularly given current product limitations and technological constraints. 

-Executed research activities for multiple features within the app , utilizing a wide range of research methods to better understand the business goals and user needs.

- Created, designed, and presented UX processes and deliverable assets (user flows, low and high fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes) for our product, UI, and engineering teams.

-Advocated fiercely for the user in workshops with product managers, data scientists, and our Chief Medical Officer to thoroughly vet various new product features and initiatives.

-Led the solution of several features within the behavior change product area, including digital coaching and nurse messaging, through the initial research and ideation, refinement of wireframes, and usability testing.

-Developed process and approach for tackling a design problem within the design team, incorporating UX, UI, content, and engineering.

-Provided mentorship and leadership within the smaller pod of the design team

-Worked across departments, including marketing, content strategy, data scientists, engineering, product, and research, to create a unified language and shared key success metrics for each feature

Effective is an experience agency dedicated to solving complex problems through human-centered design. As an Experience designer and researcher, I execute the research for client engagements, including user interviews, usability testing, and qualitative and quantitative surveys. My strengths lie in analyzing the research data and identifying the trends, pain points, and opportunities that our design solutions can address. Collaborating within cross-disciplinary teams to ideate and create solutions gives me energy and inspires me to do my best work. As a systems-thinker, I also identify areas where we can help our clients design more impactful and efficient services, beyond the digital products.

-Executed research activities for each client engagement, utilizing a wide range of research methods to better understand the client goals and user needs.

- Created, designed, and implemented digital strategy recommendations and design solutions to address my client's most pressing business needs and problems.

-Led development of Effective's Service Design offering and am working directly with Executive Leadership to implement, market and sell our new practice.

Freelance UX Designer and Consultant working to build the User Interface of Grabir’s mobile app. 
• Created wireframes and prototypes consistent with Grabir’s visual branding to present to the client
• Conducted usability tests with the prototypes to identify opportunity gaps, iterate, and refine.

Hack the Hood is an Oakland-based nonprofit empowering underprivileged youth with 6-week tech "bootcamps". However, the organization wants to strengthen its relationships with the students after the bootcamp ends. The clients wanted to build a digital product that would be able to address all of the alumni needs in one consolidated platform

Ultimately, we presented a comprehensive strategic solution through the multiple different touchpoints that Hack the Hood had with their students based on our research findings and data synthesis.

UX Designer & Researcher, Oakland Symphony EVENTS | Responsive Web Design + Service Design: 
• Objective: 2-week project to create a digital solution for the Oakland Symphony in its efforts to attract more Millennials to their symphony performances and remain relevant in the coming years
• Design processes and deliverables included: secondary research, competitive and comparative analysis, user research, surveys, user interviews, data synthesis, personas, usability testing, journey mapping, site maps and user flows, wireframes, clickable prototype, UI Design, Style + Branding guildelines, and final design report/presentation.

• Objective: 1-week project to design an ecommerce site for a local San Francisco hardware store to expand their business as well as drive more customers into their brick-and-mortar location
• Design processes and deliverables included: stakeholder interviews, competitive and comparative analysis, secondary research, user research, quantitative and qualitative research, card sorting, usability testing, journey mapping, site maps, developing wireframes with specifications, developing a clickable prototype to test flows and user journeys.

UX Designer & Researcher, "VEGLIFE" - Mobile App Design
• Objective: 3-day project to design a mobile app which would allow vegetarians (or those with dietary restrictions) to quickly locate, dine at, and rate restaurants based on how vegetarian-friendly they are 
• Design processes explored: user research, secondary research, competitive and comparative analysis, storyboarding and scenarios, sketching and wireframes, usability testing.

User Experience Project Manager for Groundswell’s webpages. Conducted user
research interviews, surveys, and A/B testing, as well as analyzed data trends from
Groundswell’s Web Analytics and Customer Support department, to improve UX
pathways for program participants. Focused on creating holistic and systematic user
pipelines that can be replicated and scaled up across the organization’s different
programs.

Additionally, worked to increase lead generation and re-engaged with current
participants through email workflows, original articles, and marketing materials.
Worked with the Director of Marketing and Community to increase Groundswell’s
community engagement through digital partners, email, social media, and well designed
web pages.

Direct sales and digital lead generation experience, including new product rollouts,
key commercial account management, inside sales and customer relationship
development, and digital marketing strategies.

Coordinator and leader of the school's Less Is More campaign - an initiative designed to encourage students to make smarter choices and use less energy, materials, waste, etc. Sustainability can be achieved through simple, every day actions of individual people, and the Less is More campaign aims educate the greater population in sustainable actions.

Built strong, positive, and inclusive relationships between 90 residents in an on-campus apartment building. Responsible for providing ongoing programming focusing on 4 Core Areas – Citizenship, Diversity, Life Skills, and Community Exploration. Additionally, created and analyzed residential surveys and trends, as well as creating actionable recommendations for programmatic improvements.

Monitored the entry gates, answered and directed phone calls, as well as assisted the Facility Manager and staff
