Hi - I'm David, an ex-Dropbox Engineering Manager specialized in Machine Learning. My background: I've led an 11-engineer ML and Product engineering group owning Recommendations features across Dropbox. We delivered >800% growth in weekly active users of our team's features, on the order of millions of users, as well as a 25% increase in our core features quality metric, click-through-rate. Before transitioning to EM, I worked as a Machine Learning Engineer where I led 0->1 delivery of Document Classification and Structured Data Extraction for billions of files. I've also contributed critical components to large scale deep learning systems for Image Classification, Intent Triggering, Search Ranking, Recommendations, and multi-modal content embeddings serving 100s of millions of users. I love mapping problems to machine learning systems, coaching engineers, aligning incentives, and programming in python. I've been on a sabbatical with my wife for travel, starting a family, and part time consulting.
