Presenting your work with impact

I provide technical consulting, tutoring, and pair coding informed by years of programming and management experience to clients all over the world. I help everyone from bootcamp students to chief executives architect reliable, scalable, and beautiful software. I lead architectural planning and manage engineers to successful product releases, from screening candidates to monitoring the deploy process. I train junior and senior employees at startups in Europe and the United States to accelerate their development and consolidate team-wide workflow into a unified and trackable process. I focus on the Codementor.io platform, where I am a permanently featured mentor with a 5.0 rating and more than 500 reviews.

I developed and implemented an advanced engineering curriculum. I authored courses where new coders learned machine learning by building a custom neural network from scratch. I personally mentored hundreds of students from their first line of code to their first engineering job in only a few weeks. I am an expert at remote collaboration. When COVID closed the school's building, I proactively spearheaded a pivot to remote learning by engineering an online individual-oriented teaching system with custom applications, dashboards, and feedback systems that increased efficiency compared to in-person learning. I created and managed a peer-to-peer teaching system where graduates instructed students, increasing graduation rates, graduate employment, and alumni career advancement.

I designed technical, commercial, and logistical strategies for a board game publisher and toy manufacturer. I designed a formal logistics process based on tracked tasks and reliable documentation that improved efficiency and team-wide job satisfaction. I was promoted to oversee planning for every part of the company, leading to a redesign of the core international supply chain that nearly doubled profits. I facilitated a pivot towards external merchandising opportunities, substantially upgrading the scale of the company's projects and social reach.

I relocated to Amsterdam to join travel marketplace startup Tripaneer. I became the central source of JavaScript guidance, initiating and building a knowledge sharing and continuous feedback program. My main role was as a mentor and coach, solving issues colleagues could not understand and creating standards for shared work and code quality. As an engineer I refactored legacy systems into a single asset pipeline, improving page speed and conversion, and built a custom e-commerce CMS solution from the ground up.

I built web services at a healthcare firm for people with chronic life-threatening conditions. I mastered MERN and helped develop prolific custom extensions for the Contentful data platform. I built high-scale consumer facing websites and APIs for thousands of daily users. I worked with product managers to overhaul our agile workflow to increase the predictability of results and facilitate engineer-stakeholder collaboration.

I invented and led the development of an ontology-filling application for a defense contractor to analyse data gathered in counterterrorism-related intelligence operations. The application used a suite of natural language processing programs to analyze rich web data, track combat events, and generate summaries, charts, and recommendations for military and intelligence decision makers. I architected and led the development of the codebase, managing other developers through code-reviews and release cycles. We produced a well-documented, readable, and extensible codebase that sold successfully to public and private clients.

I was invited to work at an international security think-tank in D.C. to produce geopolitical security analysis reports distributed to academics and policy makers. On my own initiative, I built a collection of scrapers and NLP tools to collect and parse the resources I monitored. These tools dramatically increased my personal output and later that of my entire team when I was promoted to a technical position focused on developing the tools I invented and training researchers to use them.
