Digital Accessibility Designer at Art of A11y
Hello! My name is De'Shan Perry. I'm a Digital Accessibility Designer from Corvallis, Oregon. I am also a Professional Member of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) and a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).
I graduated from Oregon State University in 2011, where my studies focused on design thinking and traditional visual design principles. While I started my career as a graphic designer, much of my work gravitated towards design for UX/UI, web, and learning experience. Each of those skills gave me the experience I needed to become a successful digital accessibility practitioner.
Today, I'm committed to accessibility as it applies to digital design. It's not enough to look good. Technology and design should enable people to succeed, regardless of their abilities and disabilities. I am here to raise awareness, mentor, and collaborate with others who recognize the importance of designing for inclusion and sustainability.
Whether you're a designer learning to be more mindful, a developer implementing technical solutions, or a leader building a business case for accessibility and coordinating initiative, I am here to help you find actionable steps forward.
