Giacom is a leading channel solutions businesses covering telecoms, cloud software, and cloud billing, serving over 5,000 channel partners across the UK. Partners include BT, Vodafone, Virgin Media O2, EE, Microsoft, and Samsung.

My role sits within the Platform Product Team, leading design for a significant platform transformation, rebuilding the suite of partner portals from the ground up into a single, modern platform product. 

Day-to-day this means leading design vision across existing portals and the new platform, owning the Design System, working closely with Product Owners, BAs, engineers, and QA, and managing stakeholder relationships across the commercial and senior leadership teams. Also managing the design team and building a culture where design decisions are backed by data.

Employed to help re-think and re-shape their digital products from the ground up. No holds barred; their goal has been to produce the best experiences packaged by delightful UI across Web, iOS and Android.

I joined an agile team that needed someone to lead design direction across two internal projects to improve on a company wide solution for connectivity.

- Working from concept to completion on a product named Boomerang. A desktop and mobile web platform for Vodafone employees to get answers to questions and to better manage their workflow

- Quick design ideation using a combination of sketches for immediate feedback and initial by in on a direction to pursue then using the Sketch app to build out more detailed final layouts

- Using both competitor research and best practice design patterns to develop the design language though also experimenting with alternative and innovative ways to use space more effectively and improve on adding depth to designs with colour usage

- Worked closely with stakeholders from different departments to help define the steps needed to take an MVP concept through to a first launch

- Set up internal testing sessions before and after the initial launch documenting feedback into a backlog of improvements to roll out the next phase

- Close interaction with the front end developers using Slack, Trello, Github to keep a good flow of communication going

Working for one of the App Businesses key clients, Homebase, focusing specifically on a new product feature to improve on the customers ability to plan and calculate home improvements. 

- Working agile within two week sprints initially creating lots of sketches and lo-fi designs to review, test, learn and iterate from

- Formalising design patterns and styles to explore in more detail and develop the chosen design direction

- Building click through prototypes using a combination of the MarvelApp and Photoshop to add in animated gifs as part of the process which helped to ensure key transitions were illustrated clearly

- Conducting corridor testing to validate next steps and develop use cases

- Over my first month I designed the MVP for a new product feature that allows customers to better
plan home improvements. The work spanned both mobile and web

- Documenting transition effects and general interaction to ensure development had a clear view on
the product. Likewise documenting a supporting style guide and measurement specifications

- Moving on I’ve continued with agreed styles and progressed into the next phase of designs focusing
my attention on more detailed interaction scenarios to improve and refine the overall content displayed

Maintaining the integrity of blinkbox brand across all internal touch points within the music business.
Working with Product Management and User Experience to contribute to all stages of the Product Development Lifecycle. Managing the creative delivery of campaigns initiated by internal departments, ensuring consistency is kept

- Led a small design team (combination of perm and contractors)

- Defined the design creation of a style guide documenting all design standards across the different mobile platforms (Android, iOS)

- Work closely with an number of external agencies, one of which to develop a mobile solution for a Windows app.

- Built strong relationships across the difference departments to ensure designs maintain consistency and the integrity of the blinkbox brand across all touch points within the business

Responsible for leading the overarching creative vision for all merchandising elements across the web, mobile and email. Global merchandising encompassed several different key areas of the business as related to the retail function – Promotions, Deals, Pricing, Site-wide merchandising strategy, Coupons and Value ads.

- Managing multiple projects across all points of sale with both external agencies and in-house designers

- Championing UX initiatives, fostering a user centred culture within the team

- Implemented a design strategy to improve on consistency across all channels

- Set up a team wiki to work more collaboratively across the business

- Close interaction with the Analytics, SEO and SEM teams to monitor page performances and help inform design decisions

- Continually guiding towards the right solutions, by forming compelling, logical and informed argument; recognising which battles to fight and which to flex on

My role at Expedia was focused on driving visual innovation to promote designs across the UK homepage and Landing pages.

- Collaborated with European colleagues to define common design and build principles

- Translated offline promotional campaign themes into meaningful online designs

- Helped to develop a unified web interface across the 4 main POS’s (.UK .FR .IT .DE)

- Designed a new 3 column layout for the homepage. This had a positive effect for the merchandising
placement which in turn improved on overall ROI

- Created numerous wireframe template for user testing

- I was selected to join a team of 5 to promote sustainable tourism in Baja, California. Whilst there we
met people working for the World Heritage Association. I helped set up a website template and educate a local team how they could continue to use it
