I'm a resilient, highly self-motivated and proactive individual. I took less conventional paths along the course of my personal and professional career. I was the first student in my whole high school in Italy to apply and be selected for a 1 year abroad in the US. No one else before me had done that. Later in my academic career, I independently conducted research that transformed the way my university calculated final GPA, impact thousands of students enrolling the years later. When it came to my Master's Degree, I chose the only double degree program that 1 single slot available, which I was awarded and that allowed me to go and study in Brazil. Worth highlighting I managed to convince the admission committee that I was the right candidate, despite not being fluent in Portuguese and that being a key requirement for the programme since classes were all in Portuguese in Brazil. In my professional career, I changed roles and directions a number of time, with my last change being most meaningful. I went from a finance role to a business development role against all possible odds of achieving that. People believed that I didn't have what I took to make that jump. Yet, I did. Not only did I mange to jump from finance to sales, but specifically to a role that required significant previous sales experience. I could mention other examples, but in essence I would like to see myself as a resilient, highly self-motivated and proactive individual. I teach this to my mentees in my mentoring sessions.
