Current: Product Manager @ Kayak.com
As a Senior Product Manager with over 13+ years of experience in the tech industry, I have developed a passion for creating products that solve real problems, deliver exceptional experiences, and impact millions of lives. Throughout my career, I have worn different hats, including working in Customer Success and Product Marketing, but for the past 7 years, I have focused entirely on Product Management.
During this time, I have had the opportunity to work on some well-known products used by millions, such as PureVPN, Sastaticket.pk, Tradekey.com and Athan Academy by Islamic finder. These products have taught me the importance of focusing on moving metrics and avoiding becoming a feature factory. My varied exposure has improved my ability to think holistically, critically and communicate effectively. I strongly believe in dedicating my time and energy to a specific product or company to create lasting value and drive significant impact. My approach to decision-making involves critical thinking, a first principle approach, and a data-driven mindset.
I have a passion for creating products that make a significant impact in the lives of millions of people. I am drawn to products that provide WOW experiences, like Zappos, and are designed with the customer at the forefront of the decision-making process. I believe in solving real customer problems with a pain killer approach, rather than offering vitamins. I am particularly interested in products that are highly engaging, user-friendly, and foster positive habits. Nir Eyal's Hooked model is an inspiration to me in this regard. Some examples of products that align with my product philosophy include Amazon, WhatsApp, Apple, YouTube, Coursera, and InDrive
I use various tools to make data-driven decisions and ensure that my team delivers customer-centric products. Valuable tools include Mixpanel, Amplitude, Web Engage, Jira, PowerBI, Hotjar, Clarity, UX Cam, and Smart Look to name a few.
To continually improve my skills and knowledge, I read books, articles, and listen to podcasts from leaders like Marty Cagan, Nir Eyal, Barry Shwartz, Lenny Rachitsky, Nassim Taleb to name a few.
“Faisal was invaluable and gave me insightful feedback. He went above and beyond what I asked and helped me.”
