I'm a UI/UX Designer with over 12 years of experience. I was working as a lawyer for a while before deciding to turn my career into the field of user experience design.
There is a connection between being a lawyer and working as a designer, both professions care a lot about people, if you are a lawyer or a UX designer, you must understand the user problems and pain points and research deeply into that before offering a proper design solution, there are plenty of iterations to do this.
As a UX designer, you start with research, collecting feedback, working on your wireframes, testing your solutions, refining your designs accordingly, and then testing & collecting the users' feedback again, to provide your users with the best experience they expected.
