Helped launch a company focused on development of next generation business to customer communication solutions. Created both business model and user interactions to connect businesses and their customers seamlessly without the waste and expense of traditional on-premise or virtual solutions. Responsibilities included:
Requirements gathering, product definition and use-case validation 
Interface design and front-end development for both internal platform and customer products

Operated as an independent design consultant and strategist, focused on product design for companies big and small. Worked as an entrepreneur among startups, in collaboration with mixed teams of collaborators and contractors. Key highlights of this 5 year endeavor included:

•	Consulted established companies – helped a leading travel service update it’s booking process and expand into new markets.

Led modernization of translation/localization company by digitizing workflow processes through
centralized work management platform launch. Applied product management discipline to traditional
service business model. Innovation outcomes:
• Reimagined translation staff workflow, achieving significant efficiency gains and cost reduction.
• Drove strategy and user experience oversight for next-generation localization products.

Guided digital strategy and user experience for 40 million member organization during critical online
transformation period. Managed design team expansion and cross-functional collaboration, establishing
foundation for modern member engagement approaches. Transformed the AARP’s online presence by:
• Delivered award-winning web experience and online community, significantly improving member engagement and loyalty.
• Spearheaded mobile strategy including first mobile app and iPad experiences as new member channels.
• Increased traffic by 10M page views in 6 months through user-centered design initiatives.
• Established design practice standards that positioned AARP for future digital evolution.

Designed prototypes and high-fidelity models that explored potential design directions well before production. Worked with program managers and business stake-holders to drive future product direction and business strategy. Teamed with Information Architects and User Interface professionals on numerous concepts, mood boards, screen mocks, visual specs, and design requirement documentations. Collaborated with – and gave direction to – design agencies and internal product teams.
