As the Design System Lead at Verizon Connect, I was responsible for overseeing the management and expansion of the Design System in close collaboration with the Architecture leadership.

My role focused on implementing UI standards across platforms, emphasising scalability, visual design, accessibility, and interaction design. I successfully expanded the Component Library and created educational content to ensure the team was proficient in tool usage and UX best practices. By providing extensive mentorship, I guided the team through design patterns, visual design, interaction design, and facilitated impactful design critique sessions.

In addition, I played a key role in shaping the product’s Information Architecture with a strategic approach, which included North Star vision setting and taxonomy exercises. My efforts contributed to streamlining the user experience and enhancing consistency across the product suite. I also led initiatives to embed accessibility standards into the Design System, ensuring compliance with WCAG guidelines and promoting inclusivity.

As a self-motivated problem solver, I consistently reported on KPIs to demonstrate the Design System team's value across the organisation. Notable achievements include driving the adoption of the Design System among engineering and product teams, reducing rework, and promoting collaboration across departments. My strategic efforts were instrumental in influencing the product roadmap and improving operational efficiency, solidifying the Design System's role as a critical component of Verizon Connect's product strategy.

As a Product Designer at Verizon Connect:
- I successfully improved Spotlight Replay user engagement by three times and increased retention by 15%, delivering measurable impact on product usage and user satisfaction.
- I supported designers through critique sessions and design clinics, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- I educated team members by organising and delivering lunch-and-learn sessions, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
- I collaborated with Product and Research teams to build a strong understanding of each product's purpose, its value to users, and how it is utilised in real-world scenarios.
- I consistently delivered finished, well-documented designs to engineers in a timely manner, ensuring seamless implementation.
- I planned and facilitated workshops that involved cross-functional teams, integrating diverse perspectives into the design process.

As a Design System Lead:
- I increased awareness and education around the Design System by onboarding new staff and ensuring existing team members understood its benefits and best practices.
- I created and maintained clear, comprehensive Design System documentation, making it accessible and useful for Design, Product, and Engineering teams.
- I collaborated with platform architects on Storybook integration to ensure design components were accurately and consistently represented in code.
- I supported and advised teams on implementing the Design System, helping them integrate it seamlessly into their workflows.
- I provided guidance and feedback on using the Design System effectively, promoting consistency and efficiency across the organisation.

- Identify user needs, sketch solutions, turn them in digital prototypes, test ideas with users,  and refine designs with data and user feedback.

- Iterate alongside engineers to build great user experiences.
- Working closely with Seniors and Lead designers to ensure the design is in sync with the design team.
