Breaking into tech

Personnel Management SaaS: Developed a SaaS platform for personnel management that allows clients to schedule and manage employee shifts through a monthly calendar interface. For the core functionality, I used Next.js with Tailwind CSS and TypeScript, ensuring a modern, efficient, and responsive front-end experience. I also implemented robust backend services using Vercel API routes and MongoDB for data management. In addition, I facilitated the integration of Stripe for payment processing and Auth0 for secure authentication, adhering to industry best practices for API development.

Key Features:

- Employee shift scheduling and management through a monthly calendar interface
- Backend services powered by Vercel API routes and MongoDB
- Stripe integration for payment processing
- Auth0 integration for secure user authentication

Marketing Funnel SaaS (Short-Form Content): Developed a marketing funnel SaaS focused on short-form content (SFC), designed to help businesses create effective digital marketing strategies using short videos. This MVP was built with Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript. I also implemented FFmpeg scripts to convert videos from MP4 to HLS format for efficient streaming, allowing the platform to handle large videos with fast playback. For storage, I integrated AWS S3, providing scalable and secure video storage solutions.

Key Features:

- Short-form video content for marketing strategies
- Video conversion from MP4 to HLS format using FFmpeg for fast, efficient streaming
- AWS S3 integration for video storage

Cost Management SaaS: Developed a cost management SaaS platform aimed at helping businesses manage production costs efficiently. This project utilized Next.js, MongoDB, Tailwind CSS, and Stripe as the main technologies to provide a seamless and intuitive platform for cost tracking and management.

Key Features:

- Production cost management and tracking

Led the development and maintenance of a complex agribusiness management system, which involved migrating the system to a new framework. This migration required strong problem-solving skills, extensive refactoring, and architectural redesigns to ensure smooth integration and fast deliveries. The system includes numerous business rules that must operate seamlessly across various modules, presenting a significant challenge in ensuring system-wide consistency. Additionally, it integrates contract management with DocuSign, providing users with the ability to handle legal agreements digitally.

Currently, I am implementing unit tests across the system to enhance code reliability and ensure that the extensive business logic remains stable and functional through future updates and expansions.

Key Features:

- Framework migration requiring advanced problem-solving, refactoring, and architectural design
- Fast delivery of new features and improvements while maintaining system integrity
- Complex business rules that must work across the entire system
- Integrated contract management with DocuSign for seamless digital agreement

Challenges and Solutions: The main challenge in this project was handling the large number of intricate business rules that needed to function correctly across the system, especially during the framework migration. To tackle this, I performed in-depth analysis and refactoring to optimize the system’s architecture. The integration with DocuSign for contract management required careful handling to ensure smooth interaction with the existing business rules. The introduction of unit tests is helping to ensure system stability, providing a solid foundation for future scalability.

Contributed to the development of an agribusiness management mobile application built with React Native. The app provides essential features such as farm surveys, planting and harvesting analysis, and works offline with automatic synchronization. When I joined the project, it had been on hold for some time due to its complexity and a lack of clear direction. I quickly familiarized myself with its architecture, data flow, and unique API responses, which deviated from standard practices.

The app faced several issues, including disorganization and excessive complexity in handling basic functions like calculations and conditional form rendering. Additionally, the absence of TypeScript made it difficult to trace data flows across the screens, requiring extensive debugging efforts.

Key Features:

- Farm surveys for tracking and managing agricultural activities
- Analysis of planting and harvesting processes
- Offline functionality with automatic data synchronization when reconnected

Challenges and Solutions: When I started, the app was plagued by disorganization and over-engineering. Simple operations were unnecessarily complex, such as basic calculations and conditional form rendering. This was further complicated by the lack of TypeScript, making it difficult to understand and manage data flow. I tackled these issues by simplifying the logic, reorganizing the codebase, and improving readability, making the app more functional and maintainable.

Outcome: By resolving these technical and organizational challenges, I successfully revived a project that had been stopped due to its complexity. This turnaround not only brought the app back into active development but also saved the company a substantial amount of money that had been wasted on an abandoned project. My efforts enabled the company to avoid further financial losses and helped ensure the app’s long-term viability.
