In the year of 2022 I took time talking to people who are interested in topics around Product, Design, Research, Career, Asia, etc. After 50+ conversations, I noted down my learnings here. --> https://bit.ly/3CnF7YG
You can expect topics including // Are you sure UXR is the right thing for you? // Entering or Switching to UXR // Resume, Portfolio, & Interview preparation // Career planning // Work in Asia as an Asian // Better research // Bigger impact in organization
Hope these notes help you too. If you want to chat more about other topics, happy to chat :-)
---------- I'm a product researcher with a background in psychology. In the past few years, I spent time in Taiwan, Singapore, and Shanghai working in hardware, software, and service products across ride-hailing, education, gaming, payment, and various other areas. I believe that the beauty of product design is the ability to deeply understand the problems that humans are facing and to build the best possible solutions with sustainable business models that empower human potential. The deeper I navigates in the product space, the stronger this belief firms.
“My mentorship session was really great, she really looked through my background and gave actionable suggestions to the issues I was facing with transitioning into UX, speaking with her opened my mind to new job pathways that I never would have through of before.”
“FengYi was a patient, meticulous and empathetic mentor who took the time to listen to my questions on UXR and helped me to break down my anxieties into actionable steps. She shared her experiences on the challenges of UXR and provided practical examples to engage stakeholders and manage difficult conversations.”
“As a mentor, Feng Yi was really well-prepared and she tried to understand my problems before addressing the solutions that I needed. Moreover, she also encourages me to share my thoughts and ask more questions if I don’t understand yet.”
