About Fernanda Yagima

Senior Product Designer at adidas

I have a long journey before actually getting to be an Experience Designer at adidas. TL:DR at the bottom :)

At 18 I co-founded a startup with my best friend (today still successful and growing in Brazil). We created a product from scratch and learned a lot on our own about how to build something, not only that people would love, but also that it's friendly to use.

I wanted to learn more, so I started a new journey to find knowledge on other companies. Since then I worked as a UI/UX Designer for Sony Mobile, where I explored the world of mobile development, right when Google was launching its Material Design. Here I found the passion to work with mobile applications.

I also worked as a UX Specialist for British Telecom, this time focused on web development and high complexity flows and experiences. And here is where I learned how much influence I had on the user experience.

TL:DR: Now I can work with both my passions, mobile and UX, on products that I love and resonate with my personal values: adidas Running and Training. I am creating experiences for long-term engagement and guidance throughout fitness journeys, which is one of my biggest challenges as it's intimately attached to people's motivation.
