Working with engineers

EDL is a design studio helping visionary companies make their complex technologies a joy to use.

Our approach bridges the gap between technology, business, and a world-class software experience.

We collaborate with leaders and founders to accelerate and mature their approach to product development.

Leading a team to help create the vision for developing, communicating, and implementing the user experience.

Key responsibilities:
- Emphasis on managing reports and conducting 1-on-1’s, while growing an ethical, enabling design culture.
- Lead a process with research, stakeholders, product managers, and developers to ship human-centered, accessible user experiences delivering on business goals.
- Produce data-driven user flows, wireframes, prototypes, UI specifications, and final graphics all in Figma.

Key responsibilities:
- Scope and document technical work based on business requirements.
- Lead daily design and engineering activities to ensure work is completed according to deadlines, with attention to quality standards, priorities and goals.
- Lead weekly and monthly cross functional team meetings, and communicating essential information to stakeholders.
- Report monthly project resources for billing purposes.
- Coordinate product releases with colleagues, stakeholders and external partners.

Leading our design efforts from start to finish across multiple mediums (web, mobile applications, and actual hardware).

Some of the things I'm doing:
- Facilitating research and workshops
- Building data-driven information architecture for products
- Wireframes and prototypes in Figma
- Conducting quantitative and qualitative user testing
- Building, documenting and maintaining style guides and design systems
- Designing strong and contemporary UI

I'm also occasionally doing frontend development (HTML, CSS and basic JS) and project management, whilst leading the design process.

I’ve led my own consultancy with focus on startups and small established companies for the better part of a decade.

Responsibilities range from branding, building prototypes and UI design to technical architecture and front-end engineering.
