About Gladys Tapia

Quality Assurance, Tester, Test Manager, Scrum Master at NTTDATA

I am a person who celebrates diversity and I am convinced that it benefits us all. I was born between two languages, grew up between two continents, speak five languages and dabble in a few others. I am a chemical engineer who loves the environment. Water is my element, as I am a Scorpio. Since this element is also a scarce resource, at university, among other things, I learned how to protect, clean and preserve it for future generations. After leaving university, I didn't stay in the water world for long and I transitioned, like water flows through rivers, to another field that I love: computer science. I am currently working in the IT world, my mission is to prevent and find potential problems in software programs. I do software testing! Yes, I know it might sound boring, but it's the job of my life. Just like superheroes with their superpowers get humanity out of trouble, we "testing heroes" help find vulnerabilities in code, requirements, integrations, etc. My day-to-day is always different, one day I'm preparing data, another I'm investigating why we see an "x" error in automated executions, and another I'm chatting with my fellow developers about what will be implemented, what the dependencies are, etc. I also want you to know that I move in agile environments like a gazelle and jump through Jira, Confluence, databases, Kibana/Elastic, Jenkins or Silk Performer like a squirrel in the High Tatras park. In addition to all this, my mission is to grow the seed of quality within multidisciplinary teams. I do Testing/QA coaching and also help new testers to venture and grow in this beautiful and unknown profession. My favorite phrase is: "I want to see you shine like a disco ball.
