• Administering the credit documentation for LEED, WELL & Fitwel certifications for new & existing buildings.
• Managing the commissioning, retro-commissioning & monitoring based commissioning projects for new & existing buildings.
• Performed ASHRAE Level I & II energy audits at existing facilities & later determined low cost/no-cost energy conservation measures for the projects.
• Administered the documentation for the ComEd Energy Efficiency Incentives Program for existing buildings in Chicago.
• Co-led the Net Zero Energy Task Force in the company to educate engineers about different strategies and case studies for designing a net-zero energy building.
• Performed energy model using IES VE as per LEED compliance for new & existing commercial building & data center projects.

• Performed data analytics to calculate heating and cooling loads for 32 locations within the United States and Canada for the next 80 years of climate data ranging from 2020 - 2100.
• Created a histogram for the data sets which will help to determine 99.6% and 0.4% design temperature similar to ASHRAE and later select the lowest and the highest global radiation respectively.

• Researched for new and innovative energy efficiency improving technologies including cogeneration, renewables, alternative technologies, utility incentives and demand response after reviewing energy usage in the manufacturing processes which can help to reduce the energy and fuel consumption for each manufacturing plant while maintaining energy reliability
• Conducted compressor optimization study by surveying the manufacturing plants on efficiency modifications & results.
• Performed detailed regression analysis using Minitab for 35+ manufacturing plants to determine the performance of each manufacturing plants based on energy and fuel consumption, production and efficiency.
• Provided technical advice and training to the team members to reduce energy consumption by optimizing efficiency.
• Prepared a user manual guide which can provide proper instructions and guidelines on using the software.

• Organized technical events & workshops by inviting professionals from the industry to the University to share their knowledge & experience with the students.
• Helped increased the memberships & volunteering opportunities by reaching out to parents, high school graduates & graduate students about ASHRAE & career opportunities within this organization.

Researched on an ASHRAE funded turbine inlet air cooling project which aimed to improve the efficiency of the combustion turbine.

GIBSS helps businesses reduce operating costs in their buildings by up to 60% through a suite of energy efficient products in the area of air conditioning, hot water generation, and lighting. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, the following were my roles and responsibilities:

GeoExchange Cooling System:
• Performed energy audits at existing facilities and later calculated the cooling loads, sizing of pumps, heat exchangers, pipes, valves and all other equipment for the new system that had a cooling capacity ranging from 50 RT to 1200 RT.
• Assisted with the preparation of engineering studies and schematic designs using AutoCAD for new GeoExchange Cooling systems and analyze the operation of existing systems.
• Researched and analyzed the design of an energy efficient system based on different load conditions, operating hours, thermal properties, groundwater parameters and non-invasive methods to accurately locate groundwater source in an area.
• Engineered a research project which would not only help to generate electricity using GeoExchange system and Organic Rankine Cycle but would also provide air conditioning in an auditorium.

Hot Water Generation System:
• Designed the system to operate at efficiency 7-8 times higher than conventional boiler/geyser with a heating capacity ranging from 105 kW to 175 kW.
• Played an instrumental role in the preparation of engineering studies and schematic designs using AutoCAD for new hot water generation system and analyzed the operation of existing systems.

LED Lighting:
• Conducted facility energy audits, coordinated and led facility site visits, performed feasibility studies and identified facility improvement measures (FIMs) after analyzing utility billing data to determine customer’s energy performance parameters.
• Performed energy savings calculations using spreadsheets, building modeling tools, and temperature bin analysis methods to calculate savings associated with the respective FIMs.
