About Hiba Metani

Design Mentor at Google For Startups Accelerator

I reach a point in my previous job, where there is a lack of knowledge improvements and my learning curve starts to reach a stopping point. And since, I am a computer engineer who is responsible for researching, designing, developing, and testing computer hardware, software, and equipment, I decided to make my experience more enjoyable by being a UXer - User Experience Designer - and getting into the User Experience Design world. Then I start to learn how to be a User Experience Designer! I used to take several courses from Lynda, David Travis, and Interaction Design Foundation and of course, I will not forget to mention reading a lot of UX books and articles! After that, I decided to be in the user research field and my story began from this point where the luck gate has been opened!

A year later, I was certified by Google to be a User Experience & Design Thinking MasterClass Instructor, then a design mentor at Google for Startups Accelerator. I launched my Google Developers Community in Amman, Jordan. Became a Women Techmakers Ambassador. by this, I had great opportunities to conduct and attend worldwide conferences, got to know amazing people globally, and had really good job opportunities.

Then I figured out that the best way to learn something new is by teaching others and interacting with them. This engagement enhanced and inspired me as a UXer.

So as a User Experience Researcher I eliminate the guesswork, do away with unfounded assumptions and observe human behavior through evaluative and exploratory activities to design their experiences.
