Since January 2021, I've been leading Product Design Ops at Canva. 

*Achievements*
- Hired and onboarded 50+ Product Designers (in 2 years)
- Implemented a new team onboarding process
- Organised and ran multiple team bonding events
- Organised and ran 2x one-week-long events focused on culture and team development
- Led a Mental Health program for the Product Design team, focusing on improving the team's wellbeing support

People Leadership & Management
- Coached new Product Designers and Product Design Interns
- Fostered an inclusive culture to enable everyone to do their best work
- Built lasting relationships across the organisation with Product Managers, Engineers, Marketing Managers

Design Operations
- Collaborated with the Recruiting team to ensure efficiency and quality in the hiring and recruiting process
- Thoughtfully organised and scaled the Product Design team, aligning strengths to customer problems, business needs and providing opportunities for career growth
- Owned the team onboarding process
- Coordinated multiple internal team development activities - including a week-long event dedicated to the team culture

Company Culture
- Established and led the LGBTQIA+ group for Canva employees
- Organised various LGBTQIA+ events for all Canva staff, including workshops, talks and social activities
- Organised and ran various team-building events and activities for the Product team

- Launched the Canva App Store (beta)

- Organised a week-long event focused on culture and team development
- Started the LGBTQ group inside of Canva and led the organisation of 2 major week-long LGBTQ events for the entire company, including running workshops, interviews and panel discussions

Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Helped the team to define the strategy to develop and launch the Canva Apps platform
- Led the design of the Canva Apps experience inside of the Canva product
- Ran design workshops to define the mission, vision and principles for the team
- Defined and evangelised the vision, strategy and long term roadmaps across the business
- Led design workshops to get buy-in and to educate stakeholders on user problems and the design thinking process
- Sketched, wireframed, prototyped and tested multiple concepts for Canva apps and integrations
- Built solid and compelling journey scenarios, information architecture, interaction and visual designs
- Organised and ran a 3-day in-person event to host strategic partners' Developers from around the world to launch the Canva Apps platform
- Worked closely with strategic partners globally to implement their apps inside of Canva
- Collaborated closely and uniquely with an engaged Engineering team to work efficiently and effectively
- Provided leadership to cross-functional teams
- Drove long-range strategy to address complex business issues

Achievements:
- Built the first design team outside of the US. Hired 10 Product Designers and Researchers
- Helped the team to implement hiring and onboarding processes
- Ran multiple recruiting events, including giving talks and running workshops
- launched the HubSpot Email Analytics experience
- Designed and implemented multiple seasonal email templates
- Worked on the design and development of the content editor
- Delivered a redesign for the Website Domain setting experience, reducing the incident rate by 55%
- Founded the LGTBQ+ group in HubSpot Dublin

Craft, Strategy & Leadership:
- Worked closely with product and engineering leaders to establish objectives, high-level strategies, and critical results for the HubSpot Marketing product
- Led design projects across the Marketing product lifecycle and multiple product launches
- Directed and collaborated with the team that launched the first HubSpot design system (Canvas)
- Worked with small multi-disciplinary teams (Product Research and Content Design) to set processes and resources
- Partnered closely with engineering, product, and business people to find elegant and practical solutions to user experience challenges
- Provided the craft leadership to develop the right Marketing product strategy
- Produced multiple concepts and prototypes; carefully deciding when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes
- Helped the team to launch numerous iterations of the HubSpot Email Marketing product
- Helped the team to implement product change to comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Worked alongside Engineers and Product Managers to deliver a high-quality user experience for the Marketing product
- Conducted research, design and usability testing activities throughout the project timeline
- Made multiple informed design decisions based on testing and data analysis
- For the space of 2 years, collaborated and continually improved the design systems

Achievements:
- Created the core styles of the newly rebranded version of the Aer Lingus website
- Helped the team to launch a complete redesign of the desktop and mobile experience
- Led a team of 4 UX/UI Designers 

Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Acted as the customer's voice within the team, ensuring that appropriate research, design and insights underpin design solutions.
- Planned, conducted, and led white-boarding, sketching and ideation workshops
- Liaised the work between contractors and brand design agencies, ensuring that stakeholders and internal team members were aligned (this project required me to split my time between Dublin, Ireland and New York, USA)
- Coordinated the workload of a team of 5 UX Designers
- Worked with a team of Business Analysts and Engineers using the Agile framework
- Advised developers on current UX methodologies while maintaining flexibility and adapting to their methods
- Contributed to the hiring and recruiting process of UX Designers and Researchers, interviewing and onboarding new members

- Delivered visually customised interfaces for multiple enterprise clients (Jetblue, Unilever, Ford, Intuit, etc.)
- Focused on the customisation and improvement of the interface of the product
- Assured that clients/users would receive an engaging and straightforward website interface to complete the tasks offered by the product
- Collaborated with the development of the product, helping the team to research and look at the future of the product, bringing ideas for new features and shaping the current ones
- Worked with ten other web professionals (Designers and Engineers)

- Created innovative and functional visual interaction design concepts for multiple clients SMBs
- Collected and discussed web and graphic design briefings with clients
- Designed wireframes, final high-fidelity for websites and online experiences
- Researched quantitative information to assist interactive solution design
- Supported the team with front end development skills (HTML, CSS and JQuery)

- Designed and developed useable and compelling visual interfaces/websites that assisted and engage users for various clients using programming languages and design techniques.

- Created custom illustrations to be used in web applications
