About Janice Ducate

UX Lead at Seamgen

Hi, I'm Janice. I've been a graphic designer for 15 years with a foundation in print. I transitioned to UX/UI where I collaborated on mostly web-based products. I then narrowed my focus to product design, working on desktop and mobile apps for things like north star visioning and prototyping, new product features and scaling design systems. Most of my experience is on the agency side.

Having worked in a myriad of team environments and industries, I'm happy to share what I've gleaned with you.

Areas I may be of help: • designers transitioning to broad UX/UI roles or specifically Product Design • resume work • portfolio work • general design and career support

What mentees say

“The whole session with Janice was amazing. She was so patient and sincere, sharing her design experiences and giving me some really insightful tips on how to structure my case studies. What I appreciated most was how she took her time to answer my questions thoroughly, encouraging me to share my own thoughts along the way. Honestly, I’m super grateful for her help—she’s such an incredible mentor.”

Claudia Wei, Graduate Student at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

“I have had two sessions with Janice discussing my career path and portfolio strategy. Janice is always friendly and encourages me to explore my true passion!”

Yining Qian, Product Design Intern at Work & Co

“I have met with Janice twice now. Both times she was friendly, knowledgable and answered all of my questions with in depth responses. She offered constructive feedback on my work and was very encouraging. This has allowed me to gain some confidence and stay on track in an industry that can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming.”
