I’m James—most people call me JB. I’m 45, and the life I live today isn’t typical. That’s not by accident—it’s the result of a plan I put into motion at 17.
I wasn’t a top student. No elite schools, no shortcuts, no safety nets. What I did have was a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial mindset passed down from my father, who worked tirelessly but never had the opportunity to build something of his own. I took that lesson seriously—and built the life he couldn’t.
Over the past 30 years, I’ve worked in technology and spent two decades advising businesses—from small startups to large enterprises—on how to turn ideas into measurable results. Along the way, I’ve built multiple businesses, achieved financial independence early, and created a life centered on freedom, family, and continuous growth.
But what truly sets me apart isn’t just business success—it’s how I think and how I build.
I don’t sit still. When I want to learn something, I go all in. I’ve become a licensed general contractor and built homes from the ground up. I’ve designed and executed complex home automation systems for high-net-worth clients, saving them hundreds of thousands of dollars. I’ve taken on ambitious personal projects—like engineering a fully synchronized holiday light and projection experience that drew hours-long lines—simply because I wanted to see if it could be done.
I solve problems. I execute. I finish what I start.
And more importantly—I know how to transfer that mindset.
Today, I work with young adults who have potential but need direction, discipline, and real-world perspective. Many are smart but untested. Motivated, but unfocused. Capable, but lacking the framework to turn that ability into a meaningful, productive life.
That’s where I come in.
I help them:
Develop clarity and direction early Build discipline, resilience, and decision-making skills Understand how to create value in the real world Find the intersection of passion, skill, and income Avoid costly mistakes that delay independence
My approach is direct, practical, and rooted in lived experience—not theory.
Equally important, my foundation is built on faith, integrity, and accountability. My values are not situational—they’re consistent. I believe success without character is failure in disguise, and I hold myself—and those I mentor—to a high standard.
For parents, this isn’t about motivation or short-term inspiration. It’s about giving your son or daughter access to someone who has built a life from the ground up—and can help them do the same with intention.
As Proverbs 24 reminds us: “A house is built by wisdom and becomes strong through good sense… victory depends on having many advisors.”
I aim to be one of those advisors—at the stage of life where it matters most.
