Working as a front end developer on the Sky Mobile website.

I was employed by Clicksco to work alongside a group of Front End Developers on the Shared Services team. The purpose of this team was to provide our services as Front End Developers to various projects within the core business. I have worked on a range of projects at Clicksco including e-commerce websites, blogs, internal tools/dashboards and a handful of micro marketing websites. Throughout this period I have used technologies/frameworks such as PHP/Laravel, Javascript, jQuery, AngularJS, SCSS, Gulp, NodeJS and MeteorJS.

I am currently working with a team responsible for the development of a NodeJs platform which serves a collection of e-commerce Travel websites. My responsibilities are to maintain existing sites on this platform, contribute to the development of new Travel websites as well as maintain and create new features for the NodeJs application.

Working on the Leighton Labs team was a fantastic challenge and was certainly one of the best opportunities that I had been given to enhance my career. Due to the small size of the team, I was expected to work with whichever technology was best suited for the MVP that we had to develop. Throughout the majority of my time on Leighton Labs, we were working with iBeacons and this meant I had to familiarise myself with iOS development.

By the time I moved on from Leighton I had developed an iPhone app that would detect iBeacons and trigger events based on the distance between the user and the beacon. The application was a proof of concept that would be used to demonstrate the functionality of an iBeacon Management Platform, also developed by the Labs team. The application was built using Objective-C in accordance with the iOS framework.

I initially started working with Leighton as a Front End Developer, working in partnership with British Airways. During the early phases of my employment, I worked with a support team who were responsible for fixing bugs and developing new features for the British Airways website.

By October 2013 I was contracted to work with a team from British Airways who were responsible for the "Hold your flight price" functionality. My responsibilities were to create the front end of the Hold Booking process as per designs provided from the UX team. Technologies used included HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, jQuery and AJAX.

Prior to joining the Leighton Labs Research and Development team, I was assigned to a project responsible for developing a showcase website for British Airways, link attached. The brief was to replace a non-responsive website built in Flash, with a fully responsive website that could be used across a wide range of devices. Technologies used within this project include HTML5, CSS3 (using SCSS as a pre-processor), Javascript and jQuery.

In January 2013 I started my small web design business on a part time basis, working as a website designer and developer for other small businesses within the area. Since starting my business I have worked on a number of projects for a variety of clients. The majority of the websites that I have built have been built on the WordPress platform. A small portion of websites are static websites used to promote events and small businesses.

Since joining the software testing team at AXA Insurance in 2010 I have worked on a wide range of projects for both internal and external customers. I am currently working with the Teesside Service Management team as a developer for a third party Service Management tool called ServiceNow. As the developer on this team I am responsible for configuring the tool to suit requirements set by internal customers across the business.

Prior to this I was working as an Agile Tester as part of the application development team in Teesside. Using DSDM Atern agile methodologies, my role as an Agile Tester was to test bug fixes and modifications to an in house Microsoft .net system, working closely with developers, to ensure that quality assurance was met before the fixes and changes were deployed into the production environment. Throughout my time at AXA I have worked on projects for a number of large organisations within the financial industry.
