UX Designer at LavaVein
My name is Jared Thayer, and I’m a UX Researcher and Design Leader with experience across transportation, healthcare, and ag-tech (which taught me the value of designing for highly specialized users). My passion for UX research was sparked when I worked with seniors who struggled to adapt to new technologies. That’s when I realized the value of empathy in experience design—how much a product can change someone's life when it truly connects with their needs.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in UX Design from Purdue University and a UX Certification from Nielsen Norman Group, where I specialized in research, strategy, and mobile design systems. Throughout my career, I’ve led projects that have not only improved user satisfaction but also significantly increased efficiency and task success rates, such as reducing route deviations by 75% in transportation logistics.
I believe great design starts with asking the right questions and framing the problem correctly. I’m someone who loves diving deep into user behavior—balancing open-mindedness with healthy skepticism to challenge assumptions. Whether it’s through field studies, contextual inquiries, or usability testing, I focus on creating user-centered solutions that deliver real, measurable outcomes.
