DATA-DRIVEN CREATIVE: As the company's first Creative Director, I was enlisted to lead the creation of innovative, on-brand, personalized CRM and digital marketing campaigns for well-known brands such as Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Giant Food, Food Lion, SHEFIT, American Steel and Iron, and more. With the goal of building an award-winning creative division, I drove adoption of best practices, introduced leading-edge technology, and assembled a bench of go-to talent. I worked with in-house marketing teams and agency partners to improve full-funnel engagement and customer experience leveraging a mix of traditional and digital media. Also responsible for Response Labs’ marketing communications, I developed content strategy, designed and wrote for web, print, display, search, and social. And, I designed brand identities for a few pro bono clients.

CREATED CARE IN HEALTHCARE: At CareFirst, I raised the standard for creative excellence and built an agency-class, in-house Creative Services team.

MAXIMUM CREATIVE STRATEGY: A mash-up of several roles involving brand strategy, creative direction and business development, I worked with a variety of B2B and B2C clients to develop marketing solutions that attract and engage target audiences. Projects ranged from logo design and brand identity systems to web and app development to digital and print collateral to video and 3D production. I led the creative process and managed cross-functional teams in the development of advertising and marketing campaigns including hands-on design, copywriting and creative execution. Acting as both agency ambassador and evangelist for industry best practices, I hosted marketing workshops, keynoted at MarTech seminars, and produced thought-leadership content for blogs, social media and content marketing.

PIONEERED DIGITAL-TRADITIONAL INTEGRATION: Initially, I was responsible for establishing the agency's Digital Services, forging capabilities in web design and development, email marketing, SEO/SEM, social media, and analytics. I built and managed a team of digital and interactive specialists driving adoption of best practices, new media channels, and leading technologies. A short time later, I spearheaded the integration of digital and traditional teams, effectively elevating the agency’s creative and technical competencies. My role worked closely with the sales, media, creative and production teams, to implement digital marketing strategies, measurement practices and analytics tools for marketing campaigns.

💻 📸 🎨 CREATIVE FOR HIRE: I was 12 when I first started getting paid for being creative. Wasn't much initially. Early on, I traded for memberships, tickets or merch to design, illustrate, write and photograph for bands, clubs, fitness centers and other organizations. Projects have evolved since. Nowadays, I’m a bit more legit (taxable). I take on select creative challenges—iI brand strategy, logos, identity systems, print collateral and communications, web and digital design, headshots and event photography—anything that seems interesting and worthwhile. Clients consist mainly of start-ups, small businesses and non-profits with a few government and other organizations, and I still help out friends on occasion.
