Hi, I'm Jeeyoung. I'm a Principal Designer at Microsoft, working on design systems for the AI Monetization team.

For the past four years I've also been on the other side of the table as a hiring manager. The most frustrating pattern I've seen: strong candidates with solid experience who don't make it past the interview, not because of their work, but because they couldn't tell the story behind it. The portfolio was there. The narrative wasn't.

I recently went through the job search myself, so I have a current read on what teams are actually looking for right now and how that's changed.

• General Mentorship Session (Portfolio/Resume) (30 min): Portfolio and case study review I'll tell you what a hiring manager actually looks for in the first two minutes, and where your story loses the reader. Interview prep Walk through your portfolio presentation or a specific interview question. I'll give you the perspective from the other side of the table: what I'm listening for and what makes me hesitate.
