I am Associate Professor of Regenerative Design and Circular Economy at the Singapore Institute of Technology, as well as an Advisor and Mentor at Chemistry.
I hold a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from NUS, MA in Experience Design from Central Saint Martins in London, as well as a BFA in Monumental Art from the Aki in the Netherlands. My research is focused on HCI, HRI, and Experience Design, I've authored dozens of peer-reviewed publications and have patents for my research.
In the past I worked as a fine artist, exhibiting in venues such as the Barbican, Southbank Centre, Singapore Design Festival, Archifest, and the Art House Singapore. As an experience designer, I've developed fashion shows for PRADA on behalf of OMA and helped open the London office of KesselsKramer. Most recently I was a Partner and the Director of Transformation at Chemistry, which is a B-Corp certified strategic design consultancy.
βJeffrey is always insightful with his comments about various areas, including the design industry, jobs, and professional growth. It was enriching to learn more about the future of design and growing my career.β
βI had an excellent session with Jeffrey. His approach to applying for a Ph.D. position and his guidance on refining my resume, motivation letter, and research idea were incredibly clear and valuable. I felt comfortable discussing my concerns with him, and he displayed a positive attitude toward addressing all of my inquiries.β
βJeffrey has been an amazing mentor who verbalized his passion for design --- the importance of being interdisciplinary and trend-predicting. I can't wait to have another chat with him! Also, super patient, waited for me to set up my network and audio :)β
