About Jessica Spowart
Assistant Professor of Art, Graphic Design at Athens State University
Hi there! I’m Jessica. My professional experience is as graphic designer and educator. I have a passion for brand identity and a commitment towards creating design that positively affects the way people think and act. I am also a transmedia enthusiast interested in interactive storytelling and VR interface design. After earning my MFA from SCAD, I worked with a variety of clients and organizations as a collaborator, freelancer, and in-house designer. Prior to teaching graphic design at Athens State University in 2019, I taught at Sanford-Brown College Seattle, Bellevue University, and the University of Washington as an adjunct instructor. I am also a recipient of the Sappi Ideas that Matter grant and participated in the AIGA Changemaker Series. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and fur babies.
