About Jim Ekanem

UX / UI Designer at Freelance

Hey there, I am a 29-year-old freelance UX/UI Designer & Facilitator from Germany based in The Netherlands. I worked in ux design and helped facilitate teamwork & strategy workshops. As a fitness trainer I've been able to hone my facilitation and people skills.

My career before Freelancing: UX Design Graduation Project at DeployTech NL (9 months) Master's degree in Human-Computer-Interaction at Utrecht University UX / Service Design Traineeship at Zurich Insurance (1 year) Bachelor's degree in Media Informatics

I give advice on: How to get your Freelancing business started as an (expat) UX/UI Designer in the Netherlands. Sharing knowledge on UX Research & Usability Engineering Occasionally I turn into a motivational speaker and go off on a tangent about the importance of a growth mindset and digital detox in this day & age. Please tell me when to stop :)

I am willing to mentor: UI Designers and Computer Science students that want to learn more about the foundations of User Centred Design & UX Research Methods. People interested in Workshop Facilitation and Design Thinking

Outside of working, I'm into fitness and organised free group workouts for several years. I enjoy live music, dance and travelling.

I look forward to meeting you! Jim
