About Joshuah Vincent

Product Manager at Facebook

Hi,

I am a technologist, product manager and designer.

My journey started when Microsoft offered me a role after university South Africa. I spent almost a decade learning how to ship products at Microsoft, followed by four startups in Silicon Valley, one I co-founded. I love shipping products that solve user needs, and figuring out how to drive success metrics.

I have been both an IC and a lead, in design and product management teams. I thrive in ambiguous environments that require multi-facetted skills. I have played a part in shipping of over 20 internationally recognized products, including SaaS platforms, hardware and software. I has proven skills as a "full stack" designer having performed design functions (IA, UX/UI, visual, research, brand).

Customer facing tech is a sweet spot for me. Starting off with Zune and progressing to Bing for iOS, leading the OnLive product and design team as well as heading up product at SFX Entertainment, Zillow and now at Facebook working in Facebook Reality Labs. I co-founded and shipped the B2B EMS music solution, Tronic.fm, focused on tools for the music industry, raising capitol, building a team of engineers, designing the platform from ground up and finding market fit.

At Xero I learnt how to empathize with small business users and their employees. I help created a payments network for Xero there and ideate payment scenarios across all of Xero's features such as payroll, accounts payable and lending.

At Zillow and now at Facebook, I am heavily focused on computer vision, machine learning and photo/video products.

Music, art/sculpture, literature, teaching and fitness are my passions when I am not creating products.
