JUAN CORDOBA

Group Product Design Lead (Apps SDK)

• Hired and led a team of five product designers to research opportunities, design, and deliver dozens of complex product solutions.
• Facilitated the definition of our new design vision, principles, and design ops strategy.
•Cultivated a growth culture through weekly design critiques and monthly learning days. I also trained our teams in product discovery.
•Managed our research process, helping teams to develop research plans, analyse and incorporate insights into designs.

I lead the design team at CarsGuide & Autotrader. I’m responsible for creating and pursuing our UX Strategy, actively seeking new ways to improve our design operations, mentoring designers, and collaborating with international teams. I also demonstrate and celebrate the value of the design team, maximising the impact of user-centred design on our products and their users.

1. Led the design of the new Autotrader mobile app, from conception to launch
2. Redesigned the Autotrader classifieds web experience
3. Design UI improvements to the editorial experience of Carsguide.

I led the News Concierge’s product redesign, a digital and print advertising web platform for small and medium businesses in Australia. The product enables customers to create & purchase print ads to be published in 51 newspapers in Australia. In addition, users can also create Google, Facebook, and Instagram Ads through the platform. Over six months, I worked with customers, engineers, and product managers to redesign the ad creation, and purchase journeys.

I designed user interfaces for OTT applications, adapted UI patterns into different native platforms, including iOS, Android, tvOS, Roku, Xbox One, Tizen and Windows 10. I also contributed to maintaining the design system of a recognised telco in the USA. In addition, I contributed to the first designs in the AXIS OTT platform.

I've built a digital agency that partners with clients across Australia and the US providing design and product management services to entrepreneurs and small businesses looking to scale. We help business unlock growth opportunities, market positioning, user research, UX/UI and front end development.

Some notable engagements include:

1. Mortgage Cloud: Redesign of the Home Loans platform in 2019
2. Lysn Health: Redesign of the mental health platform in 2018-2019
3. Kuvacash: Designed a crypto wallet app launched in Zimbabwe in 2017
4. The Care Journal: Design of a mobile app to support carers in Australia, in 2017
5. JustAuto: Redesign the Just Auto Network Marketplace (6 websites) in 2016
6. Return To Rio: Website design and development for the music festival in 2016
7. Cocoluxe: E-commerce website design and WP development in 2016

I led the discovery, and design of the Foxtel Go app for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows 10 in 2015.

I started with analysing existing user research, usage data, community reviews and customer feedback, then updated personas based on the findings. I used these to communicate the critical pain points of our users with the multiple teams involved in the project. Once the groups understood the problems to solve, I facilitated ideation workshops that resulted in low-fidelity wireframes. I used these to performed guerilla usability testing. I iterated on the designs several times until I covered most of the feedback. Finally, I started designing the user interface in Sketch, prototyped concepts in Invision, and collaborated with a business analyst to create detailed design and technical requirements.

• Designed a mobile billing platform called 2PAY
• Delivered UI Designs for white label platforms.
• Designed & prototype over ten business websites and multiple landing pages for marketing campaigns.

• Designed 2000+ icons across 13 icon packages sold on iconshock.com.
