Juan Giusepe Montalvan Lume

Lecturer & Researcher

The Space Design Division of the Center for Space Emerging Technologies approaches design and design research as a means for critically studying and envisioning human life, both inside and outside planet Earth.

The Division currently performs research in two main areas:
-Critical Space Products
-Critical Space Urban Habitats

Some of the research questions currently being explored are "How to design habitable urban spaces and experiences that favor multicultural and multi-species cohabitation?" and "Which would be critical and ethical design considerations from which to frame conditions for the development of sustainable urban ecosystems?"

The International Advisory Council (IAC) is the main advisory body within the new DRS Governance Structure. IAC members help develop policy, work on specific projects, and enhance the range of activities offered by the DRS to strengthen the network of existing design researchers and nurture the development of new researchers.

Direct and supervise the development of the Industrial Design Program at PUCP.

Lecturer and Researcher in Systems Design and Socio-Natural Networks; Pluriversal and Decolonial Design; Bio-astronautics and Space Urbanization; and Design Theory and Methodology.
