Creating Outlook product experiences driven by generative Al that help our customers be more productive and create a sense of delight. Striving to make the impossible possible :)

Led the design for Copilot Chat in Outlook from 0→1, now one of the top 3 Copilot experiences in Outlook with 240K+ WAUs. Drove Chat Unification across Office, Fluent, and partner teams, streamlining AI chat experiences across M365 with shared history, consolidated entry points, and output controls. Influenced foundational Copilot design and product principles, shaping guidance on conversational AI interactions and handoff UX. Shipped 11 user-driven Chat scenarios to 100% worldwide, designing seamless experiences within the Chat pane and on-canvas workflows. Shaping the vision and strategy for the future of Search, Assistance, and Chat, conceptualizing an AI-first search experience that connects with Chat rather than competing with entry points—bridging search and conversational assistance into a unified, intelligent workflow.

Consistently drive vision and strategy at the forefront of AI in Outlook, shaping the future of intelligent assistance and user experiences. Actively partake in conceptualizing future-forward ideas with concept videos and prototypes and organizing design sprints.

Led feature design for various Reading Pane experiences on Outlook for the web and desktop

Led the design for Viva Topics integration in Outlook, driving MAU engagement from 19.9% → 27.5% through an A/B experiment. Navigated conflicting business goals between Viva Partners and Outlook, proposing a strategic compromise that balanced Viva’s growth objectives with Outlook’s principle of keeping users in flow—ensuring both adoption and a seamless user experience. Worked closely with PM and engineering partners, iterating on visual treatments to refine the integration without disrupting Outlook’s core experience. A collateral success was influencing the new subject header direction, contributing to a long-term vision of decluttering the Outlook header for improved usability.

Shipped video inline unfurling and recording in email across OWA, Desktop, iOS, and Android, enabling users to communicate complex ideas beyond text—a critical need in the new normal of COVID. Shaped the business strategy to increase OneDrive adoption and video discoverability, addressing its status as the least-used cloud sharing method. Currently at 750K MAU, with 476K MAU using inline playback (as of 5/28/24) and growing. Led a remote design sprint across Outlook, OMG, and Stream partners to define the vision and strategy for asynchronous communication, pushing video as a seamless, integrated part of Outlook workflows.

Outlook for Web (OWA) and iOS

• Designed two end-to-end experiences for the email client, helping users more seamlessly navigate the challenges of email parsing, replying, and referencing
• Led two creative brainstorm sessions for >20 designers in Figma, ideating the biggest challenges of Outlook
• Created and conducted >10 user feedback tests with Usertesting.com, resulting in rich insights that inform data-backed design decisions

Outlook for Win32 Desktop

• One of the four designers transforming Outlook Desktop into a one-stop integrative hub in the productivity realm to increase user engagement and improve user experience 
• Conducted research with moderated/unmoderated user interviews, surveys, and 10 usability tests to solidify the problem statement and inform design decisions in the visual refresh within Outlook Desktop
• Worked cross-functionally with engineers, designers, researchers, and PM’s to ensure consistency across all Outlook platforms

• Spearheaded creation of user experience and UI design of the LA Hacks website with sketches, wireframes, and interactive prototypes
• Collaborated cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and other designers to ensure branding consistency
• Led an Intro to Voice Design for Smart Devices Workshop to 200+ attendees

Cooperated with Creative Labs project team to design a rapid prototyping tool utilizing multiple hand-drawn mockups to render components from our design system into the browser. Used Figma and React.js to design style guides and different constituents of a web page to contribute to the overall product. Collaborated with UX/UI student designers, web developers, and machine learning engineers to craft and transform hand-drawn sketches to a beautiful, high-fidelity product.
