As a Design Lead, my time was distributed between enabling and coaching my team, as an IC delivering strategic design, supporting customer success and CI&T's design ops & reops. Some highlights include delivering Research Best Practices to my team and CI&T's award winning Empathy Lab.

I consulted with clients such as Chemist Warehouse and Iress to define, design and deliver strategic research projects that help steer the ship with confidence and align product to customer and business value. 

Under the guidance of my Design Director David Bacon, I integrated gen AI into my practice by applying an ethical and human-centred design lens. With his encouragement, I began leaning into playfulness and creativity as a core component of my practice.

Working with a talented, diverse team committed to creating a more inclusive web, and collaborating with local and global colleagues on data and research strategy was a really rewarding aspect of the role.

It's been a privilege working with the incredible team at Transpire, and later, CI&T. Like many practitioners in the last year, my role was no longer required by the end of June 2024.

I joined Transpire as it was being acquired by global digital agency, CI&T. 

I've learned that aligning my work to my values is the key 🔑 . I chose Transpire because it has an impressive track record of designing for good and leading with empathy, and attracts clients and team members who are keen to do the same.

As part of the Data Science team at Vicinity Centres, I worked embedded within cross-functional teams to evolve internal and retailer targetted products that leveraged Vicinity's impressive in-house data capability. This included content design, research and testing, and design thinking activities which were delivered as frameworks the team could apply and develop. 

Prior to that, in the Digital Strategy & Product team, I lead product design and UX research for a b2b digital transformation platform. I worked collaboratively with product leaders, BAs, senior stakeholders and CX to deliver an experience that centralised leasing administration for centre tenants and reduced operational costs and failure demand. At the same time, I consulted on a range of touchpoints, including centre wayfinding, parking systems, centre kiosks, and mobile app.

My work at Vicinity included embedding design thinking, process and research, defining our product and accessibility standards, and establishing a design system. I'm operationally minded, and always considering how the business can extract the most value from design and research outputs through improving how accessible, retrievable, applicable and relevant they are.

Australia Post was a gold mine of experience and opportunity, to work with some seriously nice, talented humans.

I enjoyed working directly with UX designers and UX researchers, facilitating and note taking during user testing and research; I participated in design sprints and hackathons, upped my skills in rapid prototyping, customer journey mapping, and designing for accessibility. I collaborated on design systems and with FEDs. I’ve been coached and mentored by talented creative directors who pushed me to think critically, work smart and hone my craft.

When I joined Post, my initial focus was the design and delivery of a range of digital assets for business and consumer targeted campaigns. I maintained visibility of campaign planning each financial year and worked with agencies and internal stakeholders to uphold brand integrity and consistent omnichannel experience.

I identified an opportunity to improve the process for request, approve and manage production of assets and took this on as a UX sideproject. This allowed the digital marketing and new digital channels teams to work more closely together and created greater transparency of design studio capacity, improved quality of briefing, traffic management, quoting, scheduling, resourcing, production and asset delivery.

Completing that project allowed me to move on to designing products and experiences for businesses and consumers as part of three different cross-functional teams: MyPost Business, Lodgement (a parcel offering for high volume senders) and Digital iD. I helped to define a contemporary UI style guide for business experiences, and after some mat leave, returned to help direct and define brand identity for Digital iD in collaboration with our product team and brand agency as the product prepared to scale.
